St Laurence is an 11-18 co-educational comprehensive school, situated in the market town of Bradford on Avon, close to the World Heritage City of Bath. The School converted to academy status in 2011 but dates back to 1980 when Fitzmaurice Grammar School merged with Trinity Secondary Modern. It preserves its longer-standing heritage through the work of two foundations (Diocese of Salisbury and Lord Fitzmaurice Educational Foundation) which are represented on the Governing Body. It has representatives of the University of Bath and Wessex Water on its Academy Trust Board and is well known for its specialism in Performing Arts with a high profile for Dance, Drama and Music. St Laurence, however, is a school with many outstanding features and areas of excellence. |
